We are glad you have taken the time to stop by. What is TeamArete? TeamArete is a website created by basketball coaches and friends in May 1997 and expanded in December 2000, designed to aid in the development and knowledge of coaches and student-athletes nationwide.

Why the name TeamArete? We have chosen this name because we choose only to cover team sports, and because ARETE comes from the Greek work meaning "the pursuit of excellence." I think most of us would agree that as coaches and players, that is a very worthwhile pursuit indeed. It is a name that is memorable and defines who we are and what we believe in.

Our staff consists of those who, like you, have played and coached the game. We have coached on the junior high, high school and college levels as head coaches and assistants. We have attended the camps and the clinics. We have bought and used the tapes and books available in bookstores and online. We simply believe we can do better, at least on a regional scale. In addition to our regular staff, we have many volunteers who donate their time, as well as their efforts, to make this an excellent site and resource for your use.

Here at TeamArete, we are dedicated to giving college coaches and the student-athletes we cover and assist the exposure and assistance needed to help all of you "pursue excellence". We are devoted to providing area coaches and student-athletes with informative and enjoyable clinics, camps and products, as well as a first rate website that can benefit you and your basketball program, regardless the level you participate at.
